Hampton Park Women’s Health Care in July 2016 invested in a 12.6 kw Solar System which has been installed on the North and East Facing roof areas.
Installed in a fashion to provide electricity generated at the appropriate times of the day to limit the need for grid provided energy when the clinic is operational.
Whilst the annual reduction on our electricity bill will be significant we are also assisting in Greenhouse Gas Emissions reductions of 19,500 kg of CO2 per year.
This is the equivalent of planting 95 trees per year or traveling over 40,000 km in a vehicle per year.
With online monitoring of the system we look forward to the years ahead of not only reducing our carbon footprint but also protecting our business from increasing electricity prices.
On 2 May 2016, new laws (Public Health and Well being Amendment (Safe Access Zones) Act 2015) providing for 150 meter ‘safe access zones’ around premises performing abortions took effect.
These laws ensure that women and staff who are entering or leaving premises providing abortions can do so safely and privately, without harassment, or obstruction, and in a manner that respects their dignity.
